Isfahan children festival announces adapted screenplay jury

Isfahan’s Int’l Film Festival for Children and Youth announces jury for adapted screenplay award.

The 30th edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Isfahan has announced the jury for adapted screenplay award.

The information center of the festival recently announced that the jury of the adapted screenplay competition is comprised of Ebrahim Forouzesh, Siavash Golshiri, Marjan Ashrafizadeh, Masoud Keramati, Mahmoud Arbabi, Fereydoun Farhoudi and Farhad Tohidi.

Born in 1939, Forouzesh studied Film Directing and then started his career as the head of cinema section of Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults in 1970.

He wrote the script of ‘The Black Bird’ in 1973 and his second film, ‘Khomreh’, received the Golden Leopard of Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland.

Born in 1979, Golshiri holds an MA degree in Art Research and is a PhD student. He has been teaching scriptwriting for a long time.

He was on the jury panel of the talent finding section of the Tehran Short Film Festival and president of the jury at the first and second Zayandeh-Roud Short Story Festival.

Born in 1980, Ashrafizadeh holds an MA degree in Dramatic Literature and a BA in Cinema. She has made more than 20 short and long films and directed a number of TV series and films.

Born in 1956, Keramati studied Theater and started his career in cinema as a puppeteer in popular Iranian film ‘Mice City’ by Marzieh Boroumand.

Born in 1961, Arbabi holds a PhD in Art research, MA in Theater Directing and Acting as well as a BA in Scriptwriting. He has written numerous film scripts and has been among the selection committee of many film festivals. As a university professor, Arbabi also wrote and translated some books on cinema.

Born in 1951, Farhoudi studied Film Directing and started his career in 1980. Ha has directed more than 10 films as well as TV series and wrote more than 20 screenplays.

Born in 1956, Tohidi studied Dramatic Literature and was the chairman of the Cinema House Board, the director of the 14th Cinema House ceremony, and the director of three editions of Green Film Festival. He has written a long list of scripts for TV series and movies.

The International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults is organized annually by the Farabi Cinema Foundation in affiliation with the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs.

It is an event that celebrates films made for children and youth. The festival supports emerging filmmakers with innovative cinematic visions and ideas. It is also an event that serves as a platform for professionals to come together and exchange ideas.

The 30th edition of IFFCY is slated for June 30 to July 6, 2017 in the Iranian city of Isfahan.
